Lego Carbon Racers: Dusty Delivery Drone
Here it is, the Dusty Delivery Drone! At this point, it's part of the Carbon Racers' "Models that aren't based on any preexisting Lego Tiny Turbos" series.
As is the case with most models like this, the drone was built when I discovered another unused color in my Lego collection but did not have the parts to make a full car.
As you will soon see, this model is kind of a 3-in-1; there's the drone itself, the carrier box, and the dubious cargo itself. No, I'm not sure what the cargo is, but I'll bet Dr. Inferno from the Lego Agents line had something to do with it.
For all you know, the dubious cargo isn't rotating in this gif. It could be facing the same way the whole time, and you'd never figure it out.
One day, I entered a Lego store and saw their pick-a-brick wall had a bunch of those black pieces like you see in these two steps here. Needless to say, I couldn't keep my hands off them.
It's kind of ironic to me how those hubcap pieces from the Lego Speed Champions series have contributed to these Tiny Turbos revival models. Still, they do make good drone rotor blades.
Without the model in front of me, I forget if I actually have that 2x4 flat plate or if I used two 2x2 flat plates instead. I'd find out and tell you, but that would require me to walk all the way downstairs. Also, who cares?
If all you wanted out of these directions was the drone, then you can stop right here.
So much of this model is built "upside-down." It's on my list of Things About Carbon Racers Models That Kind Of Bug Me.
These directions make sense, right? If they don't, too bad. You should've stuck with building only the drone.
If you have other printed tiles that look more lockbox-esque, go ahead and use them.
...and that's how the drone's box is built. Have other payload ideas in mind? Let me know! I can either build them myself, or you can show me your own builds. Remember, there's a "Contact me" box on this site.
Not much to building the drone container's contents, is there? Now, all you need to do is open the box via its hinge and place the contents inside so they're lying down width-wise.
That concludes my construction presentation of the Dusty Delivery Drone. All these original models have been fun, but come back next week for when I finally build a model based on a preexisting Tiny Turbo: the VIP Van!
