About Lego Carbon Racers:
As a kid, I loved model cars--Matchbox, Hotwheels, large, small, whatever. You can imagine, then, how much I loved Lego's Racers theme, especially their pocket-sized Tiny Turbos. How I looked forward to seeing new versions every half-year, getting new design ideas (or new birthday wishlist items) with the catalogs' releases.
You can also imagine, then, how distressing it was for me when Racers was replaced by Disney's Cars 2 theme. Those anthropomorphized, plain-looking cars didn't hold a candle to the more unique, customizable speedsters of my youth. Then, after the Cars line faded into all-but-forgotten history, the Tiny Turbos line never came back. All we get were the Speed Champions; they're cool and all, but there's corporate branding all over them, and the uniqueness, portability, and charm isn't all there.
I guess it's up to me to bring the Tiny Turbos back.
Meet the Lego Carbon Racers, my resurrection of the Tiny Turbos line! Each one is made with a mainly black color palette (hence the "Carbon" in the name) as well as one main "theme" color. There are exceptions, of course; other minor colors may work their way in there, and one racer's theme color is black.
Anyway, along with the color palette guidelines, I also did my best to stick to "traditional" Tiny Turbo building techniques, but I often work in modern Lego parts that weren't available back around 2010 when the line was popular. We have all these new pieces at our disposal; might as well use them to enhance old model types, right?

I'll do my best to put out new models weekly (unless holidays or other events get in the way; I'll try to keep you all up to date). All the models posted here were made from my own Lego collection, and they all exist simultaneously; none of them were broken down to make other racers. That said, there will be upward of 30 models on this page when all's said and done. Whether you're looking for a basic or complex model, a design you remember or something completely new, you'll probably find it here (and, if you don't find it here, shoot me a message and I just might make it for your sake). Enjoy!
